Widespread Inflation felt from Grocery Checkout to Land Auctions
Prices of many consumer goods continue to follow a Superman-style pattern, “up, up and away,” as the U.S. economy bounces back.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a weighted average of prices of a basket of consumer goods and services, climbed 4.2% in April, marking the largest one-month leap since September 2008.
Farmdoc offers coronavirus webinars
With the coronavirus causing unprecedented disruption in the U.S. and global economies, the University of Illinois farmdoc team is offering a series of webinars to discuss the impact the coronavirus crisis on Corn Belt agriculture.
The webinars are expected to be 30 minutes long, but can be extended if necessary. Each webinar will begin with brief presentations, with the bulk of the time available to answer questions from attendees.
