Five Questions with Jim Gutzmer, CCFB Board Member
The transparency of our organization. When we talk about agriculture to politicians or the public, the most important aspect is to tell the truth. We are very straight forward with the information and our message.
What is the most interesting question you have received about Farm Bureau?
Anytime I talk about or even mention the farm bureau I get the question, “Are there still farms in Cook County?” I always explain that there are farms in Cook County and they are very successful.
What did you want to be growing up?
When I was in high school I worked part time at a drug store and thought about becoming a pharmacist. Instead of going to college, I joined the service then ended up working for ComEd.
What is your favorite tractor?
Red ones
When you are not working on FB related business, what is something you like to spend time doing?
I enjoy playing golf and woodworking. I also like to talk to people about the Farm Bureau.
