Lamphier re-elected to Chair of the Young Leaders Team

During the February 8, 2023 Young Leaders Team meeting, the group elected leadership for the Team for the upcoming year.
Blake Lanphier will resume the chairmanship responsibilities after a year as chair. Blake serves as the farm manager of Wagner Farm in Glenview. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in animal sciences from Iowa State University. Blake is a 2020 graduate of the two-year agricultural educational leadership experience through the Illinois Ag Leadership Program. He provides support and program assistance for the Glenview 4-H club which is one of the largest in Cook County. Blake is a Professional Member of the CCFB.
Karina Barrios will serve as Vice-Chair of the group. Karina is employed in the food production industry in the Chicago area. She is a past Ag literacy intern through the Cook County Farm Bureau Foundation. Karina has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Karina is a professional member of the CCFB.
Young leader Doug Yunker was elected as recorder for the group. Doug is a part of Yunker Farms, a 4th generation family farm in Northeastern Illinois. Yunker Farms grows conventional and organic corn, soybeans, wheat, and hay. Doug has previously worked for an area agricultural company serving area farmers. Doug previously served as Chairman of the Young Leaders Group.
The Young Leaders Team is designed to involve Cook County Farm Bureau members ages 18-35 in the organization and enhance leadership skills amongst the group. They meet four times annually for planning purposes and participate in both fun and educational activities throughout the year.
