Ag in the Classroom
Ag in the Classroom Presenter Barbara Bhojraj presented to 22 fourth grade students at Peck Elementary School in Chicago. During the “Intro to Illinois Ag” presentation, students learned how agriculture provides food, fiber, and energy, reviewed the food supply chain, and learned examples of STEM in agriculture, such as robotics, drones, and GPS systems. Middle school students in the Cook County Junior Sheriff’s Program work together to solve a matching game, connecting agriculture to sports, at Catalyst Circle Rock School on Feb. 10. During the program, the 26 students learned about sod, how sports balls, equipment, and jerseys are made, Clydesdale horses, and the farm-to-table connection of game time snack foods, including popcorn, pretzels, and Cracker Jack.
