Farm Bureau support continues at Community Gardens through the

Cookfresh Urban Community Garden Grant Program

St Irenaeus Pantry Garden in Park Forest is a food production farm that produces more than 3,000 pounds of food for their pantry , used by area residents! This garden is cared for and overseen by volunteer coordinator, Dominic Balmaseda (left) – he and the volunteers have created a space to grow food, fruits and a garden that encourage pollinators and residents to visit. Fr. Kris Paluch (right) is responsible for the garden property and two other area parish properties.

Oak Forest Pollinator Garden located in Oak Forest is a community pollinator garden that was established in 2021 and is an extension of the community food garden. The garden educates the citizens of Oak Forest and surrounding neighborhoods, with in-garden presentations on the importance of pollinators in food production and the environment.
