09/05/2022 @ 1:10 pm

The Cook County Farm Bureau Foundation Board has created a new scholarship honoring the many contributions made by the Stuenkel Family to the Cook County Farm Bureau, the Foundation, and the organization’s agriculture education and literacy programming.

“The Stuenkel Family Legacy Scholarship”

The scholarship has been designed for Cook County Farm Bureau members pursuing higher education with a focus on an agriculture related career in the areas of technology, education, leadership development, and/or mental health.

A Brief History…

Harold Stuenkel (deceased) served as president of the Cook County Farm Bureau and the Foundation. Janet Stuenkel (deceased) served many years on the Women’s Committee as a strong Ag in the Classroom advocate. Tim Stuenkel (deceased) served as a Farm Bureau and Foundation board member and chairman of the Ag Literacy Team. Julie (Stuenkel) Michaels and Jill (Stuenkel) Reiman have actively supported Farm Bureau programming as volunteers for Member Relations, Food Checkout Day, and Foundation fundraising for many years. The entire family has been an important part of the agricultural fabric of Cook County for many decades.
