5 Questions for Kelli VillarrealCCFB Coordinator-Membership and Communications

What is your favorite job within the Cook County Farm Bureau?

I love anything that lets my mind be creative. My favorite job within CCFB would be designing any promotional items we use in the Co-Operator, on Facebook, etc. When someone needs to promote an event, I love being able to create something that not only I think looks great, but my coworker likes and will get our message across as an organization.

When you are not working on CCFB business, what is something you like to spend time doing?

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family/friends as well as my husband and dog, Nixon. Sports are a big part of my life, and I still play softball during the summer. Some of my favorite things to do are wine tasting, going to concerts, traveling, and enjoying a hot summer day in my pool.

What did you want to be growing up?

When I was very little I wanted to be a professional background singer, but I eventually grew out of that. I always wanted to be a hair stylist. I love being around people and using my hands/mind to create something. I did graduate from beauty school years ago and still continue to do hair part-time for family/friends.

What impresses you about CCFB and our members?

I am always impressed with the CCFB and our members when it comes to Food Checkout Day. The CCFB Board of Directors and COUNTRY Financial agencies play a big part of that as well. The generosity from our members and the amount of people that support such a great cause is amazing. Delivering the food/monetary donations to these local food pantries and seeing the impact it has on the community is the reason why I am so thankful to be a part of this event. Food Checkout Day would not be possible or successful without the help from our members and volunteers.

 What is your favorite food?

Pizza is my favorite food. You can change it up in so many ways, I probably could eat it every day. I also have to add my favorite snack, pistachios. I am pretty much sold on anything pistachio flavored, too.
