IDOA TO START COVER CROP PROGRAM SIGN UP DEC. 15 - The Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) Fall  Covers for Spring Savings Cover Crop Premium Discount Program will start at 8 a.m. Dec. 15, according to Agriculture Director Jerry Costello II. The 2022 acreage limit was doubled to 100,000 acres compared to the 50,000-acre cap for 2021. Eligible acres will be funded on a first-come, first-served basis and receive premium discount of $5 per acre on the following year’s crop insurance invoice for every enrolled, certified cover crop acre.Top of FormBottom of Form

USDA INCREASES FORECAST FOR CORN USE IN ETHANOL – The USDA increased its forecast for 2021-’22 corn use in ethanol in its latest World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report, released Nov. 9.
