Board of Directors Recognize Volunteers During April National Volunteer Week

05/06/2021 @ 11:05 am

The Cook County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, in celebration and recognition of the outstanding volunteers and supporting members, approved a donation of $800 to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The board contributed $10 per volunteer for the 80 active members that served the organization during the past year.

In a letter sent to the volunteers, Janet McCabe, Cook County Farm Bureau President, said, “We consider ourselves so fortunate to have you involved as a committed volunteer within the Cook County Farm Bureau organization. This Farm Bureau has thrived for over 100 years because of volunteers becoming involved and staying involved. Throughout the history of the Cook County Farm Bureau, our success can be traced to the knowledge, talent, time, and expertise generously provided by volunteer members.”

The involvement by members has been especially impressive this past year as a pandemic struck, essential workers were challenged, a stay-at-home order locked people down, and many members faced economic and health related pressure and threats.

Members interested in getting involved in the volunteer structure of the organization can go to the Cook County Farm Bureau website volunteer landing page.
