Illinois Farm Bureau launches "Home for the Holidays" Campaign

12/04/2020 @ 11:45 am

Current circumstances and caution about traditional holiday gatherings may dampen spirits this upcoming season. But this doesn’t mean all celebrations have to skipped in 2020. Through Home for the Holidays, the Illinois Farm Bureau hopes to encourage upholding holiday traditions – both new and old – while members spend a bit more time at home.

Many holiday traditions are food-centric: Mom’s roast turkey and gravy; Grandma’s sugar cookies; that Pinterest rib roast recipe you tried on a whim three years ago and has become a new holiday tradition. The IFB is calling members to action through a social media “holiday recipe share”. Members can share their favorite holiday recipes and the stories and people behind them. Photos and stories will be compiled on IFB’s Facebook page through the holiday season.

Submissions will be collected through this link: https://bit.ly/IFBHomeForTheHolidays Photos and stories collected through an album on the Illinois Farm Bureau Facebook page.

IFB will also be sharing content on social media channels to connect agriculture and the holiday season, such as featuring Illinois farmers who grow components of our traditional holiday meals and decorations, the stories of agricultural communities upholding traditions or establishing new ones this holiday season, and other highlights as the year 2020 closes out.
