Wagner Farms Renovation Planned
In conjunction with their 20th anniversary, Wagner Farms is planning a series of improvements to facilitate visitor flow, including reworking the crosswalk across Wagner Road and to increase accessibility for compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act. In addition, the farm will construct a farm-focused “playscape” in the now horse pasture.
A portion of the funding for the improvements will come from an Open Space Land Acquisition and Development grant through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The grant was part of a $28.9 million funding package for 89 park projects in Illinois. The grant requires a local match from the districts receiving the funds.
Wagner Farms existing horse pasture will soon be the site of a farm-themed natural playscape.
