Farm Bureau to Host Webinar on Prevent Plant and the Market Facilitation Program
According to Midwest Ag Services, Inc. in 2018 Illinois had over 8.5 million acres planted at this time compared to just 440,000 acres in 2019. This statistic illustrates why so many farmers are talking about “prevent plant” provisions in crop insurance policies. In order to assist farmers with questions about crop insurance and prevent plant, we are hosting a webinar on Wednesday, May 29 at 9:00 a.m.

Doug Yoder with Country Financial and others will be on the webinar to try and provide as much clarity as possible on prevent plant and the recently announced Market Facilitation Program 2.0. Yesterday, the USDA announced the details of the next round of assistance for producers as farmers continue to deal with the negative impacts of the ongoing trade disputes. There will be 14.5 billion dollars in direct payments to farmers for a variety of commodities. This portion of the program will be handled much differently than the first-round last year.
