CCFB Volunteers Visit Community Gardens
CCFB Commodities/Marketing Team member, Kathy Bloomstrand visited Roots Community Garden in Palatine (photos above). Roots Community Garden is a 2018 CCFB Community Garden Grant recipient. Here is what Kathy had to say about the visit: "They have a great garden! 30 to 35 families work in the garden, and high school & Harper college students help as part of their volunteer program. They have activities for the little kids to do too. This year they also have a gardener who has helped them with things such as composting."
CCFB Commodities/Marketing Team Chair & Board member Gerry Kopping visited Sauk Village Community Garden. Garden Coordinators Collen and Nanette (below) used their grant funds to purchase soil, tools fertilizer and plantings from member business, Crete Garden Center & Landscaping.
